Behind the Scenes with Robert Bramer

Behind the Scenes with Robert Bramer

This month, our spotlight is on Robert Bramer, an Outside Sales Representative who’s been part of the team for 10 years. Known for his persistence and problem-solving skills, he’s passionate about helping customers find the right solutions for their pump applications. From managing complex, multi-year projects to celebrating small wins with his customers, Robert takes pride in making every process run a little more efficiently one pump at a time.

What is your current role and what does a typical day look like for you?

I'm an Outside Sales Rep. A typical day involves visiting customers to review pump applications, current and upcoming product needs, preparing quotes and submitting orders to inside sales.

How long have you been with the company, and what initially drew you to your position?

Ten years. The biggest draw was a better "toolbox" to work from to support customers.

What project or accomplishment are you most proud of?

The project I'm most proud of is currently on-going. It's a multiphase project replacing competitors pumps at a customer's location with Finish Thompon ULTRAChem® pumps. It took about five years working with multiple engineering groups, planners, and maintenance managers to build confidence in a long term solution. The first 10 pumps were ordered last quarter and are performing great.

I enjoy working with customers to solve problems and making their process run as efficiently as possible. I think they key to success in this role comes down to technical ability, problem solving skills, and persistence

Jim Elsey with Summit Pump. He's the one that convinced me almost 20 years ago to go back to school to get my BSME. He helped jumpstart my career early on and also helped me solidify my position as my career progressed. He has had a strong influence on my career and continues to be a mentor to this day.

You're never too important to be nice to people.

Writing down a list of things that need to get accomplished for the day and crossing them off. It helps me stay focused.

Inside Sales for Albert B. Crush company. I sold bearings, gearboxes, couplings, electric motors, etc.

Neither. Either water or a Coke.

I'm a Night Owl. It's easier to get stuff done when your phone isn't ringing constantly or getting a constant flow of emails.

Do you have any pets?

I have a Llewellin Setter named Roxy. I named her after a character in one of my favorite shows, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. She's a little over a year old and keeps me busy.

What are you most looking forward to in the next year?

Building a cabin on my hunting property.

What’s one goal you hope to achieve this year?

I'd like to get my garage completely organized.
