Behind the Scenes with Amy Jalley

This month's spotlight highlights Amy Jalley, who has been a dedicated member of the FCX Performance team for 17 years. In her role as Executive Assistant and Inside Sales Support, she keeps operations running smoothly across multiple locations, supports leadership, and leads key initiatives that make a lasting impact.

From tackling complex projects to building strong connections across the company, Amy brings energy, organization, and a passion for helping others every day.

What is your current role and what does a typical day look like for you? 

I am an Executive Assistant and Inside Sales Support for the leadership team and inside sales. I do all of the RMA's and Inventory Returns for 6 of our locations plus lead a team that follow's up on open returns for FCX Performance. My job entails a lot of responsibilities so every day I'm doing something different.

How long have you been with the company, and what initially drew you to your position? 

I have been with the company for 17 years. I started as a part time administrative assistant and then went full time. I love my position because I get to work with so many people in all different positions within the company.

What project or accomplishment are you most proud of? 

I was tasked to lead a team that cleaned up old open Inventory Returns and RMAs. I'm very proud of this team and project because we have cleaned up and closed out so many returns. It's rewarding when you see the list getting smaller and smaller.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy getting to work with associates from different locations and appreciate the variety my role offers. I like that I can be a go-to resource for my teammates.

What skills or traits do you think are key to success in your role? 

Organizational skills, good communication, time management and problem solving.

What’s one thing your coworkers might not know about you? 

My cowrokers might be suprised to learn that I am a licensed hair stylist.

Who has been a mentor or major influence in your career and why? 

One of my biggest mentors at FCX was Jody Linnig, who offered me guidance and pushed me to grow in my role. He encouraged me to take on projects outside of my comfort zone, taught me the importance of confidentiality, and gave me the confidence I needed to succeed. My parents have also been a strong influence, instilling in me the values of hard work and integrity.

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received? 

To always allow feedback and criticism....it allows you to grow.

What’s your go-to productivity hack or workday routine?

I like to get into work early so I don't have to rush opening everything up. I hate being late.

What was your first job? 

My first job was delivering newspapers on a paper route.

What’s your favorite way to unwind after work? 

Relaxing outside on my balcony or just watching tv.

Coffee or tea? Early bird or night owl? Tell us why.

Diet Coke. Both... I don't require a lot of sleep, so I get up early and go to bed late.

Do you have a favorite book, movie, or podcast you’d recommend? 

I watch the TV show Friends every single day. I think I have the episodes memorized, but they still make me laugh.

What’s something you’re currently learning or working to improve? 

Excel - I want to improve my skills. I only know the basics.

What are you most looking forward to in the next year (personally or professionally)?

Traveling and I just look forward to everyday!

What’s one goal you hope to achieve this year?

Learning a new skill.
